Join OBGIG and AMWA in leading an engaging, interactive session on menstrual health, empowerment, and wellness for young athletes.
In Share the Dignity: Empowering Youth Through Menstrual Health Education, the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Interest Group (OBGIG) will partner with the Splash Swim Team to engage adolescents in fun, interactive activities focused on menstrual health, body confidence, personal hygiene, and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.
While girls will participate in discussions about menstrual hygiene, self-care, and navigating physical activity during their periods, boys will learn how to be supportive and respectful peers when classmates and teammates experience menstruation. They will also receive practical guidance on personal hygiene, healthy habits, and respectful communication.
Led by OBGIG and AMWA, this initiative provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in women's health, adolescent health, and community education to gain hands-on experience in health promotion. Volunteers will help create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters dignity, knowledge, empathy, and self-care among young people in St. Maarten.
