Medical students are invited to perform a fun health-themed puppet show and lead simple mindfulness activities for children and (ages 2-6).
The Sint Maarten Library is hosting its annual “Read to Me – Book Start Campaign 2025” in celebration of September Literacy Month. This year’s theme, “From Peekaboo to Possibilities,” highlights the importance of nurturing a love for reading from infancy through kindergarten, while also giving parents and caregivers practical tools to support children’s overall development.As part of this national initiative, we are inviting medical students to volunteer and contribute to an exciting educational and wellness experience for children and their families.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform a Puppet Show on Health:
- Using provided puppets, scripts, and a puppet stage, students will bring health-themed stories to life in a fun and engaging way. This interactive performance will captivate young children and inspire them to think about healthy living.
- Lead Mindfulness Activities:
- After the puppet show, volunteers will guide children and their parents through simple mindfulness practices designed to promote mental wellness. These activities will encourage relaxation, focus, and emotional resilience for both children and their caregivers.
