Green fingers wanted!

Pampus is a fortress island and logs in the middle of the IJmeer. It was once built as part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam, a defense line built at the end of the 19th century to protect the capital. Today the island is a place where thousands of visitors come every year to enjoy the historical stories, delicious food and the tranquility of the island!

A group of enthusiastic volunteers takes care of the maintenance of the island. They are accompanied by the administrator of the island. They are looking for volunteers who want to help with the maintenance of green areas on the island! This involves activities such as mowing, pruning, etc.

The maintenance team comes to Pampus on Tuesdays. They sail from Muiden to Pampus at 09:00 and sail back to shore at 15:00.

There are almost more than 100 volunteers on Fort Island Pampus. active. There are hosts/women, guides, office workers, etc. Together with a small team of paid employees, they ensure that approximately 40,000 visitors per year can enjoy this special piece of UNESCO world heritage without any worries!
