Sometimes the most beautiful thing you can give someone is... simply your attention.
For our Visiting Buddies team, we are looking for committed volunteers who visit elderly people living at home independently. With a chat, a cup of coffee, a game, or a walk, you provide a bright spot in the week. At the same time, you give a caregiver a moment to catch their breath.
What are you going to do?
You visit one regular elderly person, usually once a week or once every two weeks. By meeting regularly, you build a bond of trust. Together, you decide what to do: a good conversation, a walk, a game, or simply enjoying each other's company.
Who are you?
You are someone who:
- has an affinity with the elderly;
- can make appointments independently;
- is reliable and keeps agreements;
- wants to give time and attention to someone else.
You are not alone
You will become part of an enthusiastic team of approximately 30 Visiting Buddies . You plan your visits independently, receive support from the coordinator, and meet the other volunteers during three meetings per year featuring training, inspiration, and networking.
What do you get in return?
- A warm and committed team.
- Valuable encounters and a special bond with someone who is looking forward to seeing you.
- Travel allowance from 5 kilometers one-way .
- Volunteer insurance.
- A year-end gift around Christmas.
- Joint meetings with other Visiting Buddies.
- Support, inspiration, and the satisfaction that your attention truly makes a difference.
Will you become the familiar face someone looks forward to every week? Your visit can be the highlight of someone's week.
