Job description:
Many elderly people live in Nijmegen who need a buddy. Someone who comes by once in a while for a chat, take a walk with them. Other things you can help them with as a volunteer are, for example, shopping or going with them to an appointment at the hospital.
Job requirements:
You are employable within the municipality of Nijmegen and you are interested in the elderly who want some support and fun.
What can you offer the volunteer?:
- a pleasant and appropriate contact with a client; - space to discuss together what does and does not suit you; - coordination by professional employees, whereby short lines and personal contact are paramount; - 3 times a year a (theme) meeting and an outing (on a non-binding basis); - A newsletter 2 to 3 times a year.
What makes the work worthwhile?:
We have been helping people in difficult circumstances since 1959. A few hours a week are usually enough to get someone out of isolation, distract them and allow them to live at home for as long as possible.
